NCC Budget Cuts Please read this – Industrial Action Update
While we welcome the small changes that have been made to the original package of cuts to staff Terms and Conditions, it is the view of the Branch Committee that these go nowhere near making them acceptable to UNISON members.
We therefore intend to ballot all NCC members not wholly employed in schools on whether they are prepared to take Disruptive Action to get the proposals withdrawn. Please note that we are NOT considering strike action at this stage.
The Disruptive Action will include the following:
- Refusal of ALL AUTHORISED AND ESSENTIAL CAR USERS to use their own cars for work purposes
(this does not include driving to and from work)- Refusal to cover for work colleagues who are ill, on holiday or otherwise unavailable
- Refusal to work more than Contracted Hours
- Refusal to undertake any duties not specifically mentioned in the Job Description.
A postal ballot will take place between 24 February and 16 March. Workplace Meetings have also been arranged to discuss the Action proposed and answer questions. Please do your best to attend.
